The UCA was formed in 1991 to help preserve and strengthen the liberal Christian tradition within the congregations of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches.
Please join us in this task.
Members receive a copy of the UCA journal, The Herald which is published quarterly, notice of events and other publications.
A number of events are organized each year at locations around the country to reflect the geographical spread of the membership. All members and friends are welcome to join us on these occasions.
Congregations may join the UCA as Congregational Members (and receive 6 copies of the Herald).
The UCA is an affiliated society of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches and it is in sympathy with and fully supportive of the Object of the General Assembly.
The UCA is the copyright holder for Hymns of Faith and Freedom.
How you can help . . .
The best way to help the continuing work of the UCA is by becoming a member and supporting UCA events. An application form for membership is provided on the back of this leaflet. Subscription rates are deliberately kept as low as possible so a further way in which you can help is to consider making an additional donation to Association.
The need for financial support.
A regular income from subscriptions and donations is essential for the UCA to continue its work. Printing costs for the Herald need to be covered and there are plans for other publications in the near future. Daybreak and Eventide, a prayerbook for use in individual daily devotions is still available (see the publications page). A new book by The Rev Dr David Doel, The Man they called the Christ will be available from April 2010. Other projects are in the pipeline.
All these things need financing and so we appreciate greatly the contributions that we receive from our members, supporters and friends.
Gift Aid Scheme
It is now possible for subscriptions and donations to the UCA to take advantage of the Gift Aid Scheme. If you pay income tax and you wish to help our finances in this way please complete a Gift Aid declaration. More information is available from the Treasurer.
Donations and Legacies
Legacies to the UCA are one means of helping to ensure the future. Members and friends are invited to remember the Association in their will.
Donations and legacies are an important way of supporting the ongoing work of the Association for generations to come. The Association came into being largely as the result of a generous financial donation and other donations in the years since have supplemented our income and enabled us to keep subscriptions low.
